Well seeing as though I am putting this up for all to see I had better do a good job of it.
A little background first
This site is dedicated to my 7 year old son Christopher who was diagnosed on the 17th of June 2008 with orbital embryonal rhabdomysarcoma.
phew what a mouth full.
What it is is basically a soft tissue malignant cancer in his eye muscle.
I have decided to put up this post as an encouragement for all who are going through hard times and as a place where we can give God glory for Christophers healing.
To date Christopher has had 3 chemo therapy treatments.
He is on vinchristine and dactinomyocin (excuse the spelling)
When we started the protocol on the 7th of July 2008 we had no idea what to expect and what our son was going to go through.
on thursday that same week he was admitted to hospital with a raging fever, our hearts sank as he had 51 more weeks of treatment laying ahead of him.
blood tests were done and medicines to control the fever were given.
the next day the pediatrician checked him over and told us that Chris had a case of tonsillitis and that a few days in hospital and a course of antibiotics was needed.
second chemo went well, the third without incident.
on the 21st of July 2008 his hair started falling out and due to the nature of the tumor on the eye we decided to shave his head as hairs were collecting on the now exposed tumor.
well it has been a very interesting few weeks and we are a household of baldies, all the boys shaved their heads.
our community has been fantastic, people take turns preparing supper for us on the day our son goes in for chemo, it takes a lot of stress from us, God bless them.
well Chris goes in tomorrow for his long chemo VA, we will see how he responds this time with out tonsillitis.
God bless
